  1. Annual Rankings and All-American honorees for any given year are announced within 21 days of the completion of the years final event.For updated ranking status throughout the season please refer to The Indoor Triathlon USA Leader Board.
  2. To be included in the Annual Rankings and be All-American eligible, athletes MUST complete at least One (1) ITUSA Event in a given calendar year.
  3. Annual Rankings are based off ONLY the athlete’s Best Race Result.
  4. Athletes may compete in multiple ITUSA races with ONLY their best single race result counting towards their annual Ranking.
  5. Races for 2015 are: Portland, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Coeur D’Alene, Denver and Chicago.
  6. An athlete’s race result is the sum of the distances they accumulate in any one event; 10 Minute Swim, 30 Minute Bike and 15 Minute Run. Example: A race participant completes 600 yards (.341 miles) in the 10 Minute Swim, 8.5 miles in the 30 Minute Bike and 2.25 miles in the 15 Minute Run in an event. The participants race result is 11.091 miles (.341 + 8.5 + 2.25 = 11.091 miles).
  7. Athletes are ranked within the following age groupings; 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-17, 18-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90+
  8. An athlete’s age/age group is determined by their age as of 12/31 of that race year.
  9. The highest race result, both male and female, will receive the highest age group rankings. All other athlete’s race result averages will follow in descending order.
  10. The top 10% nationally of every age group will receive All-American status. The next 10% (11% – 20%) nationally of every age group will receive All-American Honorable Mention status.

IMPORTANT:

While there are regular season events in multiple locations, Every location’s course is the certified “Virtually Identical”:

  • Every swim is in a 25 yard pool.
  • Every bike is on a crono, weight calibrated trainer (the athlete uses their own bike).
  • Every run is on a no-grade (flat) 100 yard course with distance recorded every 50 yards.

This means no matter where the race is located the course has been certified by Indoor Triathlon USA as virtually identical. Because of this, individual race results will not only rank athletes for that particular event but against other athletes that have completed Indoor Triathlon USA Events in other locations around the country. The Indoor Triathlon USA Leader Board will update with every regular season race result, tracking athletes nationally throughout the regular season. So check it after every new event.

After the final event of the year, final Annual Rankings are tabulated, and certified official. The top 10% nationally of every age group receives All-American status. The next 10% (11% – 20%) nationally of every age group will receive All-American Honorable Mention status.
