Beginning Triathletes

    Most triathlon seasons don’t get started until June, maybe May if you live in a dry climate. What better way to test your fitness and a true triathlon experience than with an Indoor Triathlon USA event! Jump start your season and be ready when the outdoor season starts.
  2. A Controlled, Non-Chaotic Pool Swim
    Swimming can be the most intimidating leg of a triathlon. It generally starts in large groups with a chaotic jostling for position. It is also in large bodies of water, like lakes or oceans, which can also be a tough hurdle for a beginning swimmer to overcome. Indoor Triathlon USA events are always in a pool with every athlete getting their own lane. It doesn’t get any better than that.
  3. A Safe Bike Course

  4. Non-Punitive Transition
    Before the outdoor season begins learn how to efficiently work your way through a Transition Area. There is a transition area between the swim and bike (T1) where the athlete needs to put on their bike gear (bike shoes, top, etc) before mounting their bike. There is a transition area between the bike and run (T2) where the athlete changes from bike to running shoes before taking off on the run. In outdoor races your transition time would be added to your overall time. Indoor Triathlon USA events gives the athlete 5 minutes for transition 1 and 5 minutes for transition 2. This just is enough time to safely change and ready one’s self for the next leg as long as they are efficient. Practice this before your race and get efficient!
  5. Great Atmosphere
    Great music and constant updates over the PA system makes for an exciting event. The atmosphere will be carnival like with all the legs of different waves going on concurrently.
  6. The Race is Measured by Distance not Time
    If the race were a typical sprint distance event the distances might be a 1/4 mile swim, 12 mile bike, 3 mile run. This could take a beginning triathlete 2 plus hours to complete. Indoor Triathlon USA events are always a 10 minute Swim, 30 minute Bike, 15 minute Run. You know your event will only be 55 minutes. Do the best you can and enjoy yourself without panicking about being stuck on the course all day
  7. Spectator Friendly
    Unlike most triathlons everything; Swim, Bike and Run, in a Indoor Triathlon USA event is in the same area. This way your friends and family can be there every step of the way cheering you on!
  8. Personal Music Devices are Welcome!
    For safety reasons iPods and other listening devices are not allowed at most outdoor triathlons. Because there is no traffic danger in Indoor Triathlon USA events it is not an issue. So if the music we have playing over the PA is not doing it for you, go ahead an put on your ear buds and go to work!
  9. Great Swag!
    Every finisher of an Indoor Triathlon USA event will receive a well earned Finisher’s Medal. Finisher or not, every participant will receive a custom designed Indoor Triathlon USA Dry Fit Race Tee . Not to mention Award Certificates three deep for every age group!

    What better way to jump start the new healthier you than to train for and complete a triathlon. And remember the only one you are competing against is yourself. Experienced Triathletes

  1. Great Early Season Test/Goals
    Seriously, you know that the time period from Christmas to early April is the danger zone for your fitness. You’ve fallen off your workouts. Your diet goes to crap. Don’t let it happen. Don’t let all that fitness you achieved go bye bye. Set some early season goals with Indoor Triathlon USA and go into the summer season with momentum!
  2. Pure Splits
    With Indoor Triathlon USA there are three questions:
    – How far can you swim in 10 minutes?
    – How far can you bike in 30 minutes?
    – How far can you run in 15 minutes?
    These numbers are never convoluted by transition times because you are given 5 minutes off the clock for T1 and T2. At the end of the day you are left with 3 pure splits. How’s your speed?
  3. Great Local Race
    Like you, this will be the first time of the year for local triathletes to test themselves against everyone else in the area. See where you stand. What are your strengths? What do you need to work on? Never doubt the splits. ..It’s science.
  4. Great National Event
    Unique to Indoor Triathlon USA is the concept of creating identical courses in different cities around the country. Every swim in a 25 yard pool. Every bike on the Elite Qubo Trainer (Look below). Every run on a no-grade (flat) out and back loop with distance recorded every 50 yards. Because of this your times will not only be compared and ranked against your local competitors but against all other competitors across the country. Every local event is actually just a part of one big National Event!
  5. Elite Qubo Fluid Trainer
    One of the things that separates Indoor Triathlon USA from any other indoor triathlon is the Elite Qubo Fluid Trainer. The technology emphasizes the correlation of the rider’s weight and power on how the rider performs:- The combined weight of the rider and the bike resting against the rear roller automatically calibrates the trainer.- The bike rests directly on the roller as it would on the road and has a direct effect on the rider’s power output. The higher the rider’s weight the more power the rider must generate.- For example:To maintain identical speeds a rider weighing 200 pounds must have a higher power output that a rider weighing 150 pounds. Just like on the real road.
  6. Annual Rankings
    While there are events in multiple locations; Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago, etc. Every location’s course will be the same; Every swim in a 25 yard pool. Every bike on the Elite Qubo Trainer, Every run on a no-grade (flat) out and back loop with distance recorded every 50 yards. This means whether the race is in Chicago or Portland the courses have been certified by Indoor Triathlon USA as virtually identical. Because of this, individual race results will not only rank athletes for that city’s event but against other athletes that have completed Indoor Triathlon USA events in other locations around the country. Annual Rankings will look at the entire season as one big race. With every new race, previous individual rankings will adjust to accommodate the new results. So keep an eye on the Leader Board after every Indoor Triathlon USA Event. After the final race of the year, results and Final Annual Rankings will be tabulated, updated and certified official.
  7. Weather no longer an issue
    The primary reason most triathletes don’t get out in the winter is the weather. By bringing the events indoors that excuse has been eliminated. Time to get started!
  8. All-American Honors
    After the final race of the year, results and Final Annual Rankings will be tabulated, updated and certified official. The top 10% nationally of every age group will receive All-American status. The next 10% (11% – 20%) nationally of every age group will receive All-American Honorable Mention status.
  9. Very competitive but more Fun than outdoor triathlons!
